[(1-10%)(1+20%)(1+60%)]^{1/3} - 1
 = [(0.9)(1.2)(1.6)]^{1/3} - 1
 = 1.2-1 = 0.2 = 20%

如果基期是 1,
第一年成長率 -10%, 成為 0.9;
第二年成長20%, 成為 0.9*(1+20%) = 1.08;
第三年再成長 60%, 成為 1.08*(1+60%) = 1.728.
經過 3 年成長了 1.728-1 = 0.728 = 72.8%
這相當於三年來每年床長20%: (1+20%)^3 = 1.2^3 = 1.728.
